Volleyball

Volleyball can be played inside, outside, on gym floors or on sand. The sport is popular recreationally, but has been around since the 1800’s and actually started out being played with a basketball. One thing that makes volleyball a great sport to try are the similar qualities found in other sports. Hand-eye-coordination and the movements in volleyball are similar to basketball and handball and the net may seem familiar if you watch or play tennis. In some places volleyball is more popular in the spring, but chances are still high it’s a sport you could try this fall.

Hockey

Many hockey seasons kick-off in the fall. The sport is fun, fast, exciting and a favorite for those who like ice! Trying a sport like hockey is a great way to get out of your comfort zone if you have previously played sports on grass or courts and are open to trying something new. The sport requires quite a few pads and gear, but the sensation of the ice and skating around with friends is priceless.

Track and Field

Whether you are interesting in running cross country, trying out hurdles, or sprinting the 200-meter dash; track and field includes so many events suited for all kinds of athletes.
